http://www.MikeVeny.com Country music began in 1920's and continues till today. The success of the music has proven itself by it's worldwide popularity. For the matter of fact, today's country music is also considered pop music because of it's universal appeal.
In the above video, Mike Veny is letting loose a country music drum solo over the song “Redneck Woman” by Gretchen Wilson.
Mike Veny is unique drummer who has become known for energetic grooves, a powerful backbeat, a beautiful tone, and magnificent stage presence. Veny draws inspiration from Dennis Chambers, Zigaboo “Ziggy” Modeliste and all of the drummers from George Clinton and Pariliament Funkadelic (P-Funk). He is a professional studio drummer who began taking lessons in the fifth grade. He has been seen in a number of magazines and news advertisements. Mikes had served for the Guitar Center Drum Off as an adjudicator, which is the Largest Drum Competition in the world.
Veny has performed with the Nhojj, the Hip Pickles Drum Band, The Dirty Sock Funtime Band (Nickelodeon), the Sunrisers Drum & Bugle Corps, pit orchestras for many musicals, various contemporary ensembles, and seven albums including Chicago the Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Bad Ideas. Mike has performed on various projects with Jeannine Otis, featured singer on the on the dance rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, which reached the Top Ten on the High Energy Dance Charts in the USA, UK, Italy, and Australia.
Mike has also performed with Kim Oler, the Emmy Award winner and a former staff composer of All My Children for ABC's, Tracey Ullman Show and The Guiding Light. Mike still performs with number of artists in New York City, including Erika Banks, sean360x and Dave Rudbarg. Mike has served as one of the member of Board of Directors for The Fender Music Foundation. He has head sponsorships from Gretsch Drums, Toca Percussion, Aquarian Drumheads, Gator Cases, Gibraltar Hardware, KickPort and Crescent Cymbals.
