We know the intense role that technology is playing in health care — from providers to patients. New research from Accenture offers a break down around some numbers and provides important areas to watch.

The report is titled “Fueled by Healthcare IT Start-Up Funding, Digital Disruption is Knocking.” The research estimates that “digital health funding will double in the next three years, growing to $6.5 billion by 2017.” The key areas for growth:

  • Infrastructure
  • Treatment
  • Engagement
  • Diagnosis

In many of these areas, wellness plans can provide key insights and support — whether from data that results from health screenings to new ways to engage wellness-conscious employees to finding new paths to improved plan design and reduced cost.
