New evidence that employers are spending more on their employees' wellness.
A new survey published by Fidelity Investments and the National Business Group on Health shows that corporations are planning a 15 percent increase in their “wellness incentive spending.”
According to the report, “corporate employers expect to spend an average of $594 per employee on wellness-based incentives, an increase from 2013’s $521 average. For smaller employers with less than 5,000 employees, the employee average reached $595, a $151 increase from levels reported in 2013.”
One place that is adding wellness planning: The Tulsa Police Department. According to the Tulsa World, the program will focus on physical and the mental health. The offering includes a website that “outlines daily workout plans, exercise instructions, nutritional information and all the resources to maintain a healthy lifestyle even when they are away from the gym.
