It's the day after the day after. You enjoyed New Year's Eve. You had all New Year's Day to recover. Now it's time to make sure you have resolutions in place.
To get help, we turned to Readers Digest, which lists “nine healthy resolutions.” Choose the ones you like — or, feel free to choose them all!
- Control Your Portions
- Be Active
- Slash Sodium Consumption
- Increase Antioxidants
- Quit Smoking Already
- Floss Your Teeth
- Wear Sunscreen… All Year
- Strength Train
- Expect Good Things From Yourself
The American Diabetes Association also offered resolutions two years ago via My Food Advisor. They bear repeating:
- “Set a Goal It’s great that you have made a resolution to improve your health. Start thinking of your resolution as your health goal” for the year.
- “Make a Plan Once your goals are set, it’s time to make a plan that will help you achieve them.”
- “Take Action Start working toward your goals with your plan in mind. For many people, tracking their progress is helpful. Keep a food log or physical activity log – whatever is relevant to your goal.”
